Will CBD Show Up on a Drug Test?

Drug Test Woes

In today’s job market, drug testing is fairly common. One of the most common substances that these tests will search for is THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana and hemp. For people who use CBD oil, the big question is, will it cause them to fail a drug test?

Can You Test Positive For CBD?- NO

Drug tests aren’t looking for CBD, so having it in your system is perfectly fine. You will not test positive for CBD in your system.

Can You Test Positive From CBD- MAYBE

It is possible- though incredibly unlikely- that taking CBD oil will leave enough trace THC in your system for you to test positive for THC.

HOWEVER!

You have to take an excessively high dose of CBD oil for that to even be possible. Leafly.com reports that an individual taking an unusually high dose of 1000mg- 2000mg CBD oil daily could theoretically test “falsely positive” for THC, if they’re taking CBD oil that meets the national requirement of less than .3% THC.

Even More Unlikely

Grassroots CBD regularly tests around .16% THC, well below the national requirement of less than .3% THC. So, theoretically, you’d have to take even more than 2000mg daily to test positive for THC when using Grassroots CBD oil.

So, What’s the Final Answer?

Because there are trace amounts of THC present in all CBD oils, there is always a possibility that it may cause a “false positive”. Be sure to buy your CBD from a reputable, tested source that meets national requirements, and take less than 1000mg daily to minimize the chances of a “false positive”. With proper use, it is highly unlikely that Grassroots CBD will cause a positive reading on a THC panel. Talk to your doctor and find out if Grassroots CBD might be right for you.
